White House Down is a 2013 action film directed by Roland Emmerich (2012, Independence Day). Channing Tatum stars as John Cale, a Capitol Police Officer and failed Secret Service applicant who must rescue President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) after the White House is taken over by heavily armed mercenaries. The film was released in the U.S. on June 28, 2013.
The following weapons were used in the film White House Down:
Cale uses Springfield Armory XD taken from one of the mercenaries for much of the movie, later giving it to President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) to protect himself.
Secret Service agents are armed with SIG-Sauer P229 E2 pistols. Emil Stenz (Jason Clarke) uses a suppressed P229 while seizing control of the White House.
The Brügger & Thomet APC9 is carried by several of the mercenaries who seize the White House. The submachine gun seen is fitted with a tan upper receiver, an EOTech sight, tactical light and suppressor. Cale uses one after seizing it from a mercenary early in the film. Several mercenaries including Stenz and Killick (Kevin Rankin) also use the APC9.
Cale uses a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with a RIS handguard and foregrip while rescuing the President from the mercenaries. Stenz's right hand man Motts (Falk Hentschel) uses a similar MP5A3 throughout the film.
Some of the mercenaries are armed with M4A1 rifles with EOTech sights. Agents from the Secret Service Emergency Response Team are also armed with M4A1s, as are U.S. Army soldiers and U.S. Marines.
One of the mercenaries searching for Cale and the President in the White House's living quarters is armed with a SIG SG 552 carbine. Cale takes the SG 552 and uses it while eluding Stenz.
The mercenaries use a Minigun mounted in a Secret Service Chevrolet Suburban during a chase on the White House lawn. John Cale is also seen using a Minigun later in the film.
President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) uses an Airtronic RPG-7 in the film. It can be recognized by the addition of the M4-style stock and RIS rails. Two separate rocket types can be seen being used with this weapon; the PG-7VM and the larger PG-7VL.
