Killing Them Softly is the film adaptation of Geroge V. Higgins' 1974 novel Cogan's Trade. Andrew Dominik both wrote the screenplay and directed the film. Brad Pitt stars as Jackie Cogan.

Cogan (Brad Pitt) can be seen wielding a Mossberg 500 "Cruiser" in the films theatrical trailer, production stills, and on the theatrical release poster. Cogan's Cruiser has been modified with a Surefire foregrip and a clamp on LaserLyte tri-rail fitted to the magazine tube.
