Simon & Simon was a television crime series that aired on CBS from 1981-1989 and starred Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker as brothers who run a private investigation agency in San Diego. The series benefited greatly by airing immediately after the similarly themed series Magnum P.I., where the brothers appeared in several crossover episodes.

The M16 is seen used by Rick when he was disguised as an Army officer in Season 2's "Emeralds Are Not a Girl's Best Friend."
