The Gift is a 2000 supernatural thriller directed by Sam Raimi and starring Cate Blanchett as a woman who discovers that she has extrasensory powers and uses them to assist in the investigation of a murder case in her small Georgia town. The film was written by Billy Bob Thornton, who says was based on his own mother's psychic experiences. The cast also includes Giovanni Ribisi, Greg Kinnear, Katie Holmes, J.K. Simmons, Hilary Swank, and Keanu Reeves.
