''Aria the Scarlet Ammo'' is an anime television series based the Japanese light novel series by Chūgaku Akamatsu that began airing on the April 14, 2011.
In this story, a system known as "Butei" (abbreviation of ''Busou Tantei''[武装探偵], meaning "Armed Detective") was established as a qualification course to help curb the worsening crime rates in the world. Several specializations made into divisions exist for the "Butei" system, but all have the right to be armed and could arrest criminals as long as it falls under the conduct of the "Butei Law". Kinji Tohyama is a Butei student at Tokyo Butei High, but wants to quit due to personal reasons. However he was attacked by a criminal known as the "Butei Killer" and during the encounter, he meets with Butei prodigy Aria H. Kanzaki, who saves him. His story and interactions with this mysterious girl culminates into the series' story line.
