The MSBS Grot (Modułowy System Broni Strzeleckiej, "Module-based Firearm System"; rendered in official Polish sources as "MSBS GROT") is a Polish next-generation modular rifle system developed by Fabryka Broni "Łucznik" - Radom as a replacement for wz. 96 Beryl rifles in Polish service. Consisting of a common upper receiver and handguard, the rifle can be configured with different lowers as either a traditional layout or bullpup layout. Modular parts are planned to allow both configurations to be built up as standard rifle, squad support weapon, compact carbine or marksman rifle. 53,000 examples are currently ordered by the Polish military.

The MSBS-5.56 (Modułowy System Broni Strzeleckiej kalibru 5,56mm, "Module-based Firearm System 5.56mm Calibre") is a Polish next-generation modular rifle system developed by Fabryka Broni Radom as a replacement for AK-pattern rifles in Polish service. Consisting of a common upper receiver and handguard, the rifle can be configured with different lowers as either a traditional layout (MSBS-5.56K) or bullpup layout (MSBS-5.56B). Modular parts are planned to allow both configurations to be built up as standard rifle, squad support weapon, compact carbine or marksman rifle. While during development it was known as the Radon, a name first announced in 2010, in 2017 it was announced the rifle will officially be known as the Grot (a word used for various pointed weapons such as arrows, darts and javelins): this replaces both the old Radon name and seemingly also the MSBS name.
During initial development from 2007 to 2010, the rifle is only known under its developmental designation, MSBS-5.56, suffixed with K, B, or R for conventional, bullpup, and "representative" (inert drill version) versions respectively. In 2010, the Polish magazine Strzal, in collaboration with FB Łucznik Radom, launched a contest for an individual name to the MSBS rifle, with the winning name being Radon; "Radon" was ocassionally used by non-official sources from 2010 to 2017.

The Polish Ministry of Defense created a new naming scheme after ordering 53,000 rifles. The name of each rifle will be in the formula Grot (C, B or R for standard, bullpup and "representative" (inert drill) layout)(10, 16 or 20 for barrel length in inches)(nothing, G, M or PS for assault rifle, grenadier, machine gun or DMR)FB-M(series number). FB here stands for the manufacturer's name and M is a model number. So, for example, a Grot C16GFB-M1 would be a standard layout series 1 rifle with a 16-inch barrel and a grenade launcher.
In 2017, the MSBS rifle was formally adopted by the Polish military, and was given the official individual name of Grot ("arrowhead", "spearhead"), named after the pseudonym of Polish general Stefan Rowecki. The Polish Ministry of Defense also created a new formal naming scheme for the Grot rifles, in the following formula:
*Grot - official name of the rifle, followed by a space
*C, B, R - conventional, bullpup, or "representative"
*10, 16, 20 - barrel length in inches
*G, M, PS - grenadier, machine gun or DMR. This letter is skipped if the weapon is configured as an assault rifle.
*FB - standing for the manufacturer's name
*-Mx - x corresponding to the series number.

A grenade launcher module, the GPBO-40 grenade launcher, is also part of the system, with a standalone version called GSBO-40.
For example, a Grot C16GFB-M1 would be a standard layout series 1 rifle with a 16-inch barrel and a grenade launcher.

A grenade launcher module, the GP, is also part of the system, with a standalone version called the GS.

A 7.62mm variant has also entered the prototype phase.

 • Grot - official name of the rifle, followed by a space
 • C, B, R - conventional, bullpup, or "representative"
 • 10, 16, 20 - barrel length in inches
 • G, M, PS - grenadier, machine gun or DMR. This letter is skipped if the weapon is configured as an assault rifle.
 • FB - standing for the manufacturer's name
 • -Mx - x corresponding to the series number.

The FB MSBS Grot and variants can be seen in the following films, television series, video games, and anime used by the following actors:
