''Waterworld'' is a 1995 post apocalyptic action movie starring [[Kevin Costner]] as The Mariner, a mutanted lone wanderer who possess webbed feet and gills and travels a flooded Earth in search of dry land. Due to an absurd budget of at least 172 million US dollars (equivalent to over 295 million in 2020), it failed to recoup its costs at the box office. While this caused its name to become synonymous with "bombed film", the film did eventually, barely, recoup its costs after home video release.
