The Thompson used is NOT an M!... It is an M1928A1. This is clear from the pictures as the charging (cocking) handle is on the top of the receiver (1928 pattern) rather than on the right hand side (M1A1 pattern)

The rifles used by the gendarmes who surround the hotel look more like the original MAS49 version, rather than the 49/56, with a wooden stock and handguard which extend up to the foresight. IKD 10 Oct 2010
