Front Beyond the Front Line (Front za liniey fronta)
Front Beyond the Front Line (Front za liniey fronta) is a 1977 Soviet war movie directed by Igor Gostev. It is the second part of the trilogy, started by Front Without Flanks (Front bez flangov) (1975) and continued by Front in the Rear of the Enemy (Front v tylu vraga) (1981). In late 1943 - early 1944 the special unit under command of Major (later Colonel) Mlynsky (Vyacheslav Tikhonov) continues fighting behind German lines. One of the main tasks is now to get the plans of the German fortifications.
The following weapons were used in the film Front Beyond the Front Line (Front za liniey fronta):
Some of Soviet officers and soldiers carry PPSh-41 submachine guns with drum magazines.
MP40
MP40 submachine guns are used by German soldiers. Captured MP40s are seen in hands of several Sovier officers and soldiers.
MP38
MP38 submachine guns are also seen in several scenes.
Rifles
Mauser Karabiner 98k Rifle
Karabiner 98k rifles are seen in hands of German soldiers and Russian collaborationists. Some of Soviet soldiers also use captured German rifles.
AK-47
An anachronistic AK-47 is seen in hands of one of the soldiers of German Einsatzkommando (special unit), disguised as a Soviet partisan unit. It supposedly stands for a Sturmgewehr 44 (which is also a little not in place for Spring 1944).
Machine guns
Degtyaryov DP-28 Light Machine Gun
Degtyaryov DP-28 light machine guns are used by Soviet soldiers.
Maxim M1910/30 Machine Gun
Maxim M1910/30 machine guns are briefly seen in several scenes.
MG34
German troops use MG34 machine guns, often mounted in motorcycle sidecars.
Goryunov SGMB
A Goryunov SGMB, a pedestal mounted version of Goryunov SG-43 Machine Gun, is mounted in BTR-152 that stands for German APC.
DShK
A DShK heavy machine gun is used by German troops in one scene, standing for German 20-mm automatic guns.
