That said, Bond definitely uses an M1911A1 - Ignoring the fact we have an image of the screen-used gun itself on the page, look and compare closely you'll see the markings don't match the Star, particular in that they don't include the large 'STAR' lettering, the rear of the slide doesn't match with a Star but does with a Colt, same with the safety, grips and hammer. Finally in the one shot that shows the right side of the gun, you'll note there is no external extractor which would be present on a Model B. (Also better seen in the last screencap posted here in the discussion page above, where you'll also note the large .45-sized bore of the gun as well.)
