			In 1977, Colt released the Fourth Issue of the Police Positive Special, featuring a heavy barrel and ejector rod shroud styled after the [[Colt Trooper#Colt Trooper Mk III\|Colt Trooper Mk III]].

			The standard Police Positive was discontinued in 1947. The Police Positive Special was manufactured until 1995, becoming Colt's most produced model at over 750,000 units.
