The foregrip looks to be a [http://www.surefire.com/illumination/weaponlights/shotgun-forend/mossberg590500.html Surefire 323 series] and the tri-rail mounted in front of it may be [http://www.laserlyte.com/products/adp-trir-140 LASERLYTE ADP-TRIR-140]. I can't tell if the tri-rail adapter is actually fastened down, in the detail below it appears to be canted off center.

Saw the film yesterday. It sure looked like a 1911 to me. What's odd, though, is the bottlenecked cartridges the pistol ejected. Maybe .30 Luger? The Browning Hi Power has been chambered in that caliber, and even a limited run of Colt Commanders in the 1970's. But was that a real pistol firing real ammo with a lot of editing (which is apparent in the scene)? Can't imagine a prop gun chambered for an odd caliber when 9mm blanks are usually what is used.

==Some other guns in the movie to look out for when it's on DVD==
1. One of the guys who kidnapped Ray Liotta had a heavy-barrel six-shot revolver of some type. The other two revolvers seen are both five-shooters. The one that the robber in the beginning used had a rounded wooden grip and no back sights, and the one that Brad Pitt carries has an extremely small frame and cylinder.
2. That's definately an M1911 that Brad Pitt fires in the back of the car. I think digital effects made the bullet casings, they looked fake-ish, at least to me.
3. Sam Shepard's character used what I believe to be a Glock the first time that he and Kenny beat up Marky. The police at the shopping mall also use Glocks, and you get a pretty nice close up of one in that scene.
4. I found it a huge shame that they didn't fire that ultra-sawed-off shotgun in the film, mostly because I'd love to know exactly what would happen if someone did. Any ideas, anyone? IO9 posted a photo of the props from Looper that clearly shows the "futuristic shotgun" (pretty much a zip gun fashioned from a crude wooden handle and something that looks like an AR front) and the single-action revolver (which is not a Colt SAA - I can't tell what it is, some Taurus?).

First off, excellent movie. Second off, just in case anyone was wondering, a few guns I noticed in the movie:
Bruce Willis also used the Mateba Autorevolver, as well as an MP9-looking submachine gun breifly during a flashback. He used it to shoot at a car in a driveby. Maybe a TMP or something?

Young Joe had some type of single-barrel break-action derringer looking gun when escaping from his apartment. Noooo clue what it was, dark scene with a dark gun, but the shell casing he inserted into it looked like a .22.

He loads up something that looks break-action (but again, small gun in a dark shot), loads it with a bullet, and then runs out the fire escape, and he fires one shot at the Beretta Gat Man. The Doctor had some sort of revolver that definately was not a BFR during the climax of the film. A python, I think? Again, it's only on screen for a second.

Old Joe had an MP5 after his P90's ran out of ammunition. You can see it when Abe is looking through a security monitor and then again when Joe bursts through a door.

I actually thought at the time that it was an HK33 variant, maybe a HK53 could be confused for an MP5? It was shown only briefly and even then through a black and white 'security cam'. One of the thugs accompanying Kid Blue at Joe's apartment has a Beretta of some sort, which seems odd considering everyone else's love for BFR's.

The final Gat Man to get killed at the club by Joe with the p90 is carrying an AR-15 pistol variant. You get a good look at it when the guy dies and the gun falls besides him.

Joe drives by a guy who has I *think* a Mossberg shotgun that he uses to kill a looter.
