[12 JUL 2008: CORRECTION - The magazine that drops from CJ's Glock is indeed a 10 rounder, but it does not say .40S&W, it says ".45". If you have the DVD, pause it on that scene and you'll see it. This would also be consistent with being used in a G21]

All Service Model Glocks (17, 20, 21, 22, 31 & 37) all have a 15 round mag capacity.

== Shotgun ==

(Edit) You can't identify a shotgun via the barrel. Barrels are easily changed between models ie the Mossy 500 and the 590 etc. You need to look at the receiver of the shotgun in question ie the loading/ejection port/bolt/rivets/pins/trigger guard/safety etc etc etc. Come on, guys, this is basic stuff. The shotgun used in that truck scene is a plain old pistol grip Mossberg 500 with an 18.5" barrel. The one used in that gunshop scene in the second pic is a shorty Remington 870. Tucker's shotgun switched back and forth from a Mossberg 500 to an 870 continually. There is nothing even close to an Ithaca 37 in that movie. The Ithaca 37 is a bottom ejecting pump....the ones used in the film all clearly had ejection ports.

In addition Micheal takes a simmilair looking weapon from the gunstore, although he is never shown fireing it. Cj takes this gun after Tuckers death, and ultimately somehow Terry gets ahold of it, and can be seen fireing it from the bus during the escape.

When the shotgun changes from a pistol grip Mossberg 500, it changes to a Remington Non Gun. It's the same Remington non gun from the first season of ''Justified'' [[File:Remington_Non_Gun.jpg]] I would edit this page myself but I'm still new to editing and I don't want to screw up the page.

== Ruger SP-101 ==

This most definately is NOT a Ruger SP101. It's more likley a flashcap nongun, or an armscor 206. i think it is just a nongun to replace her model 19 because she is so close to steve.

I think it might be a nongun also, if you look closely you can see that the bore does not align with the cylinder very well. -[[User:AdAstra2009]]

I think this is the model 10 .38 special with a heavy barrel. I think so because when they are stocking up on ammo in the gun store he checks it and says it uses .38s. I know that .357s can fire .38s but if it was a .357 it would say so on the gun.

== Bart's revolver ==

I got to say that bart's revolver is more than likely a S&W model 10 with a heavy barrel. During the scene in andy's gunshop
while CJ and Bart are grabbing ammo. CJ asks bart what caliber he needs, Bart clearly calls out ".38". Why CJ didn't know that is
anyones guess.
- That wasn't Bart. It was Terry. Bart was the 1st survivor to die. and if you watch the movie with subtitles on, you can hear him say .357 so yes, it is a Model 13

It could be either or because they ask for both ammo types, and they have a Model 19 snub too as well as a possible dozen of other .357 caliber weapons, because they are in a gun store. ==Kenneth's Shotgun==

MPM is gonna hate me for this but the mockup that he made isn't entirely accurate to the gun Kenneth used in the latter parts of the movie. MPMs mockup has the short police/riot forend which doesn't cover the loading gate when cocked, but Kenneth's is clearly the old hunting style synthetic that covers the gate when pumped. This isn't really gun-related, but can anyone explain CJ's abrupt change of mood at the end of the film? He goes from hating everyone else and being ready to kill them to being prepared to sacrifice himself for them. I didn't really get that.

I kinda see what you mean. I just thought it was odd that he was prepared to hold off the zombies for people who'd done nothing but keep him locked up for a month.
Although, he does try the door, so he may not necesarily have thought he was sacrificing himself.
Another question: When he tries the door, what does he say? Is it "Damn! Fuck!" or "Jammed! Fuck!" I think it's "damn."

Did anybody else take a close look at this screencap and spot something wrong?

The ejector rod housing is all wrong, it looks like it's supposed to swing out to the right side instead of the left. At first I thought it was a reversed shot but there's no cylinder release latch. I think it's one of those fake Dollar Store guns that sell for about a buck, they're molded in a similar manner.

Agreed; I don't hate the 9mm; it's a good round. There are just other rounds I like better (namely the .357 mag, .357 Sig, and .45 ACP.) Well, in Tucker's defense, he does appear to be a redneck of sorts and when it comes to guns, most rednecks tend to go big (i.e., .357 Magnum). The Armscor shotgun is listed as being used on [[The Punisher (2004)]] and [[Red Dragon]], but the films pages list them as Mossberg 500. It appears the same gun was also used in [[Dark Blue]] but is listed as an 870.

Whether it's an Armscor or Mossberg the mag tube has been cut down. The only difference I could see in the two since the mag tube has been cut is the trigger guard, Mossberg is squared while the Armscor is rounded. But none of the screencaps show it well enough. He is seen drawing it from a shoulder holster as Lecter stabs him. Graham is also seen preparing one for the raid on Dolarhyde's house. The FBI purchased 803 S&W 459's and issued it to agents in the early eighties. The second generation 459 was manufactured from 1979-1987. Since the film begins in 1980, Graham's 459 would be consistent.

Saw it on uncut TV (the only good way to watch a movie on TV), the ending is a real shocker, the story is very good.

Gordon Ingram designed the MAC-10 in 1965 and later, when the company he worked for, Sionics Inc, was merged into the larger Military Armament Corporation in 1970, the MAC-10 was put into production. The 9mm and .45 acp versions were introduced simultaneously. The .380 version was introduced later in the same year. The MAC-10 was then offered to the U.S. Military during the final years of the Vietnam War as a weapon for special operations and for support personnel, like armored units (hoping to replace the M3A1 Submachine gun as the self defense weapon of most tank crews). The MAC-10 didn't generate a lot of interest from the U.S. Military due to it's small size and high rate of fire (too high it turns out for most operational uses). The lack of a foregrip motivated M.A.C. to provide a grip strap in front so that a second hand could hold down the gun and control the extreme muzzle climb when firing a long burst. But it was still an awkward weapon to fire and was most popular when mated with the efficient Sionics Two Stage Sound Suppressor. The Sionics Suppressor increased the length, quieted the sound (in a manner that was impressive for it's day), and gave the shooter a stable point to grab with the second hand. CIA and SEAL units used the MAC-10 in Vietnam, and Special Ops units from other countries (Israel, UK and West Germany to name a few have been seen wielding versions of the MAC-10 during that time period). Unfortunately no Major military ever formally adopted the weapon and it was sold mostly to Elite Police units (foreign and domestic) as well as special covert ops units until Military Armament Corporation went bankrupt in 1976. The death knell was the U.S. Government ban on selling Silencers/Suppressors to other countries (a ridiculous ban that has since been lifted). But foreign clients only wanted the MAC-10 with the Sionics Suppressor, orders fell to nothing. We can still see Ingram MAC-10s in South and Central America (usually 'gifts' from the CIA over the years) and in the armories of some European countries, but no one uses it as a 'front line' weapon any more.

Other companies then built transferable versions of the MAC-10/9, MAC-10/45 and MAC-11 : most notably RPB Industries and SWD Corporation. Only the MAC guns built by M.A.C. (when Gordon Ingram was there) can be called "Ingram MAC-10s".

==Cobray M11/9==

The Cobray M11/9 is not a 'true MAC' in that it was an updated design 'based' on the MAC-11 blueprints by SWD Industries. Cobray was the company that emerged when SWD closed down in 1986, however SWD was the first company to design the 'elongated' M11/9 pistol that Cobray became famous for. All of the fully transferable SWD/Cobray M11 submachine guns were actually built by SWD between 1978 and 1986. Cobray kept the SWD logo on many of their frames, but Cobray (the new company) actually only manufactured semi-automatic pistols for public sale after 1986 until they themselves folded (for the most part) in the late 1990s (though they still exist now, selling replacement parts for their guns but they are shadow of their former selves).

In movies and TV shows, particularly those made in the U.S. and Canada, the M11/9 appears quite regularly as a stand-in for the MAC-10 and MAC-11, which means that it is often mistaken for the Ingram guns. When identifying MAC variants on IMFDB, look closely at the back of the receiver to see if it is elongated.

Frank Castle ([[Thomas Jane]]) uses a pair of heavily customized [[M1911A1]]s as his main sidearms in the film. His father Frank Castle Sr. ([[Roy Scheider]]) devoted some dialogue to the guns, commenting on how he bored the chambers, customized the triggers, and added some thread-on compensators. Some other notable feattures are their Novak night sights, the ''Smith and Alexander'' extended magazine wells, combat hammers and combat triggers, ''Kings Gun Works'' extended slide stops and extended slide releases, as well as ''Ed Brown'' Memory Grove beavertail grip safeties and front cocking serrations. When using it to shoot Castle's vest in the dance club, he puts two 12 gauge rounds into his body armor from less than 10ft away. Though this might seem impossible, a level IIIA Vest can easily withstand shots as powerful as 00 Buckshot.

The two both uses them to great effect and Castle scores two kills with his, one of which by means of blowing up a propane tank on a grill. They are smooth-bore shotguns because they are clearly seen loading birdshot shotgun rounds into them. Based on slight difference in the trigger guard and pistol grip/tang area, these appear to be Spanish Eibar copies.

When Castle is "safe-guarding" his apartment, he places a stainless steel [[Smith & Wesson Model 66]] into a custom made drawer launcher, which kicks out the drawer when the counter is tapped. Castle tries to grab this gun when he is attacked by "The Russian" ([[Kevin Nash]]), but he grabs a weight and smashes the barrel flat.

The weapon crushed by Kevin Nash in the movie was a real S&W Model 66 that was actually destroyed just for the film.

Among the weapons in his arsenal, Castle has a handful of [[M67 hand grenade]]s, one of which he keeps attached under the sink in his bathroom. He also keeps a switch near by which shuts the door so he can throw the grenade out and shut the door to protect himself from the blast. This technique proves inefective when he tries it on The Russian, who uses a pipe like a baseball bat and whacks the "baseball" right back into the bathroom. Castle just barely makes it into the bathtub to avoid the blast.

Castle brings some Anti-Personel (AP) mines with him to assault the dance club. One he plants on the main entrance, which is set off when someone tries to run out. The second mine he sends up the dumb-waiter hidden in a wine bucket. When the man goes to pull the wine out, the whole rooms blows up. The last mine he uses to leave John Saint at the mercy of his own willpower. He claims the AP mine weighs 8lbs, which isn't much, but then he outstretches his arm and ties the fuse to a hanging piece of insolation. He then says how holding that mine up with an outstretched arm would be a "hell of a work out."
