Thanks! My Dad was actually born in Amsterdam, migrated to Australia in the 60's, so I'm a half Dutch Australian who currently lives in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Good to see you're trying to focus on Australian movies. I myself try to 'promote' Dutch movies, especially in the last few years there's been an increase in good quality Dutch action movies. It's because they tarted in low budget that some of the greatest directors of our time: Spielberg, Sam Raimi, Peter Jackson, Robert Rodriguez, etc. are so creative and think outside of the box. Thanks a lot! This is my first contribution and I was struggling with a few things. All I need to do now is create a few actors pages, add guns from this movie on the weapon pages and finally create one new weapons page. Have mercy on a novice!

Not a problem. Compared to the pages that a lot of new users make, yours was a pretty easy fix. The only problems were in regards to minor, easily rectified formatting issues (most new users wind up making jumbled train-wrecks for pages). The descriptions were pretty good as well, and only needed linking (usually "fixing" new pages means rewriting a bunch of poorly written excuses for sentences). All in all, not a bad start. Hell, MPM08 was able to take care of most of it before I could even hit "Save Changes".

Two other tips, if you're not sure how to format something, just jack the coding from another page (I steal from my own pages all the time). Also, repond to comments on that user's page, and sign your posts (either by typing '''<nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki>''' or by clicking the second-to-last button above the editing window).--[[User:PistolJunkie|PistolJunkie]] 18:46, 20 March 2011 (CDT)

Again thanks a lot for your constructive comments, I am quite new to this page as far as contributing is concerned but I am eager to learn! I did indeed figure out that 'jacking' is sometimes the most practical way, when constructing this first page I had a page for another movie open on editing mode to see how it should be done.

Sorry for the many times I save a page. I am quite keen to make my first (but certainly not last!) entry a good one so I do check back once in a while to see if I can improve. For next time I will make sure to create and finish a page in one evening so that I don't invite others to spend their precious time on something that I was going to finish the next day...

In Australia, the tactical units are not called SWAT, so that's why the names were changed to tactical. Also, it doesn't make sense to use the screenshot of [[Patrick Dugin]] wearing a mask for his actor page. I was wondering why you posted your message three times in a row, but then I figured it must have something to do with the 'delayed reaction' 'cloud' BS that IMFDB is experimenting with. Though it helps back up everything, the new system is maddening because NOTHING updates in real time any more. As for your question, the first reason of putting the year on any title is to differentiate it from identically named movies from previous years. But this is a less common instance where the year is also put on the updated title. Several ways to tell, firstly the 700 has an ejection port that is open all the may around the receiver (notice how the scope rail bridges over the open top) wheras all AI rifles have an ejection port that is only on one side. Secondly, the receiver is round on the 700 whilst the AI rifles have a flat sided receiver. An the AI there is just a small semi-circular cut out in the polymer stock for the bolt handle stem, whilst the AICS has a large cut out with a separates plastic collar inside (not sure if this is a good description, just look at the bolt handle area on the two rifles and you will see the difference). The AI has a large round nob on the bolt handle (after market bolts for the Remington 700 can look like this so not a deal breaker). The reason it works is due to the redirects that have been already been created by users, and I'll use the Zastava and AK-47 page as an example. The only time that you can put a link in square brackets and have it take you to a page without using a redirect is to either use the page name <nowiki>[[AK-47]]</nowiki> to get [[AK-47]], or to put a link to a specific section of the page and rename the link such as <nowiki>[[AK-47#Zastava_M70|Zastava M70B1]]</nowiki> to get [[AK-47#Zastava_M70|Zastava M70B1]]. If you just put in the section name <nowiki>[[Zastava M70]]</nowiki> it will not automatically take you to the right page without somebody already having created a redirect. If you click on [[Zastava M70]] and scroll to the top of the whole page you will see the text "(Redirected from Zastava M70)" under the AK-47 page title. If you click on the text it will take you to the [http://www.imfdb.org/index.php?title=Zastava_M70&redirect=no redirect page] and you can see the coding that is used to do one of these redirects. Also Su-27UB, the two-seat version of Su-27, carries only one missile under each wing while the screen plane carries two, like Su-30. Concerning special forces: it seems to me that this is a "generic special force" in the movie, the troopers doesn't carry any insignia of a real special force. The Model 15 Combat Masterpiece was in common use with police and private security officers from the 1950's to the 80's. The four inch barrel configuration was manufactured throughout its production history (1949-1999).

At various times it was also available with a two inch barrel (1964-1988), six inch barrel (1986-1992)and the eight and three eights inch barrel (1986-1988). The last two longer barrel lengths were issued after Smith and Wesson ceased production of the Model 15's target version the Model 14 Target Masterpiece in 1982.

The Model 15, and later the Model 67, was issued to officers of the L.A.P.D. for many years. It was, at the same time, a standard issue to pilots in the United States Air Force as well as the Air Force Security Police.

It was a counterpart of the [[Smith & Wesson Model 10]] with adjustable sights and a "target" action. It is also the "duty" version of the Smith & Wesson Model 14 Target Masterpiece. The biggest difference between the Model 15 and Model 14 was the Model 15 had a four inch barrel and the Baughman quick draw front sight while the Model 14 was initially only available with a six inch barrel and the Patridge front sight. The Patridge was not conducive to a "snag-free" quick draw while the Baughman was.

It was discontinued in 1999, but a stainless version,[[Smith & Wesson Model 67]] is still in production. Chambered in .38 Special only, it has only approximately 50% power of the modern .357 Magnums.
This gun is the ancestor of the [[Smith & Wesson Model 19]].

The Smith & Wesson Model 15 Combat Masterpiece Revolver was a K Frame revolver chambered for .38 Special. The Model 16 was a target model chambered for .32 S&W Long (and is not a common revolver). The Model 17 Target Masterpiece was a .22LR Model based on the same frame but for most of its production was made only with a six inch barrel. The Model 18 Combat Masterpiece (.22 LR) is a duplicate of the Model 15 with a four inch barrel.

The Lee-Enfield is a series of bolt-action rifles and carbines that were designed by Scottish-born gun designer James Paris Lee (1831-1904) and the Royal Small Arms Factory at Enfield Lock, Great Britain; to replace the Lee-Metford series bolt-action rifles and carbines (a series of bolt-action rifles and carbines that were designed by James Paris Lee and William Ellis Metford) when the British armed forces adopted smokeless gun powder in the late 19th century. The Lee-Enfield series of bolt-action rifles and carbines saw extensive service with the armed forces of Great Britain and the nations, colonies, and dominion states of the British Empire/British Commonwealth from 1895, until the rifles were replaced from frontline military service in 1957 by the British version of the [[FN FAL]] rifle, the L1A1 Self Loading Rifle.

The Lee-Speed was popular with British officers and other hunters who wanted a fine rifle, but couldn't afford the expensive double barrel rifles made by Purdy, Holland & Holland and other famous, and expensive, British gun makers. The Lee-Speed was popular because it fired the easily obtainable British service round (.303 British), though it was also manufactured in other calibers. The "Lee - Speed" had the same action as the Lee-Enfield bolt action rifle, which allowed many British hunters and colonists in Africa to obtain spare parts and ammunition from British Army units based in Britain's African colonies during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Despite being removed from frontline service in 1957, the Lee-Enfield saw extensive use as a secondary infantry rifle with reserve forces as well as use as a sniper rifle by the British military. In 2008, nations like India, Pakistan, Nepal and Canada still use the Lee-Enfield rifle as a standard issue rifle to police forces and to reserve military units. In the case of Canada, the Canadian Rangers are still using the Lee-Enfield No.4 rifle as their standard-issue rifle. In the case of India and Pakistan, the Lee-Enfield is used by the police forces of both nations with the Indians utilizing a 7.62mm NATO version of the No.1 MkIII* rifle called the Indian 2A/2A1 rifle. Australia still manufacture/convert Lee-Enfield's as hunting/plinking weapons in a range of calibres from 7.62mm NATO and the Soviet 7.62x39mm M43 with Australian International Arms (AIA) manufacturing modern versions of the Lee-Enfield rifle for the civilian firearms market.

The Lee-Enfield rifle saw extensive use in many military conflicts from the late 19th century to the present day (easily outstripping the length of service the Mosin-Nagant rifle has achieved) with Lee-Enfields being used in conflicts like the Second Boer War, the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, the Malayan Emergency, the Suez Canal Crisis, and the Mau Mau Uprising. The Lee-Enfield was also extensively used by the Mujahideen during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the 1970s and 1980s. The Lee-Enfield has also seen extensive use in the hands of insurgents and warring factions recently in nations like Nepal (where both Nepalese Government forces and Maoist guerrillas used the Lee-Enfield rifle), Afghanistan, Iraq, India (with both the Indian government forces and the Naxalite Maoist rebels being seen armed with SMLEs and various firearms) and the Solomon Islands (where many of the warring factions in the Solomon Islands were seen armed with Lee-Enfield No.4 rifles stolen from military and police armories during the civil unrest that occurred on the islands during the late 1990s/early 2000s).

Unlike Mauser-derived bolt-action rifles (with their 5 round internal magazines and "cock on opening" bolt systems), the Lee-Enfield series of bolt-action rifles and carbines have a 10-round detachable magazine and a "cock on closing" bolt system, which allowed a well-trained rifleman to fire between 15 to 30 aimed rounds in under 1 minute. Between 1895 and 1957, around 17 million Lee-Enfields have been produced and, as of 2010; are still in circulation today.

The Smith & Wesson Model 19 was an 'upgrade' of the very popular Smith & Wesson Model 15 (which was the Model 10 with adjustable sights). With the advent of the more powerful .357 Magnum round, Smith & Wesson offered a newer version of the Model 15, beefed up to take the then new cartridge of the time. The Lee-Enfield is a series of bolt-action rifles and carbines that were designed by Scottish-born gun designer James Paris Lee (1831-1904) and the Royal Small Arms Factory at Enfield Lock, Great Britain; to replace the Lee-Metford series bolt-action rifles and carbines (a series of bolt-action rifles and carbines that were designed by James Paris Lee and William Ellis Metford) when the British armed forces adopted smokeless gun powder in the late 19th century. The Lee-Enfield series of bolt-action rifles and carbines saw extensive service with the armed forces of Great Britain and the nations, colonies, and dominion states of the British Empire/British Commonwealth from 1895, until the rifles were replaced from frontline military service in 1957 by the British version of the [[FN FAL]] rifle, the L1A1 Self Loading Rifle.

The Lee-Speed was popular with British officers and other hunters who wanted a fine rifle, but couldn't afford the expensive double barrel rifles made by Purdy, Holland & Holland and other famous, and expensive, British gun makers. The Lee-Speed was popular because it fired the easily obtainable British service round (.303 British), though it was also manufactured in other calibers. The "Lee - Speed" had the same action as the Lee-Enfield bolt action rifle, which allowed many British hunters and colonists in Africa to obtain spare parts and ammunition from British Army units based in Britain's African colonies during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

== Background & Usage ==
Despite being removed from frontline service in 1957, the Lee-Enfield saw extensive use as a secondary infantry rifle with reserve forces as well as use as a sniper rifle by the British military. In 2008, nations like India, Pakistan, Nepal and Canada still use the Lee-Enfield rifle as a standard issue rifle to police forces and to reserve military units. In the case of Canada, the Canadian Rangers are still using the Lee-Enfield No.4 rifle as their standard-issue rifle. In the case of India and Pakistan, the Lee-Enfield is used by the police forces of both nations with the Indians utilizing a 7.62mm NATO version of the No.1 MkIII* rifle called the Indian 2A/2A1 rifle. Australia still manufacture/convert Lee-Enfield's as hunting/plinking weapons in a range of calibres from 7.62mm NATO and the Soviet 7.62x39mm M43 with Australian International Arms (AIA) manufacturing modern versions of the Lee-Enfield rifle for the civilian firearms market.

The Lee-Enfield rifle saw extensive use in many military conflicts from the late 19th century to the present day (easily outstripping the length of service the Mosin-Nagant rifle has achieved) with Lee-Enfields being used in conflicts like the Second Boer War, the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, the Malayan Emergency, the Suez Canal Crisis, and the Mau Mau Uprising. The Lee-Enfield was also extensively used by the Mujahideen during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the 1970s and 1980s. The Lee-Enfield has also seen extensive use in the hands of insurgents and warring factions recently in nations like Nepal (where both Nepalese Government forces and Maoist guerrillas used the Lee-Enfield rifle), Afghanistan, Iraq, India (with both the Indian government forces and the Naxalite Maoist rebels being seen armed with SMLEs and various firearms) and the Solomon Islands (where many of the warring factions in the Solomon Islands were seen armed with Lee-Enfield No.4 rifles stolen from military and police armories during the civil unrest that occurred on the islands during the late 1990s/early 2000s).

Unlike Mauser-derived bolt-action rifles (with their 5 round internal magazines and "cock on opening" bolt systems), the Lee-Enfield series of bolt-action rifles and carbines have a 10-round detachable magazine and a "cock on closing" bolt system, which allowed a well-trained rifleman to fire between 15 to 30 aimed rounds in under 1 minute. Between 1895 and 1957, around 17 million Lee-Enfields have been produced and, as of 2010; are still in circulation today.
