"Stalker" is a Russian Language movie by Andrei Tarkovsky. The movie is loosely based on Roadside Picnic, a 1972 novel by Russian science fiction authors Boris and Arkady Strugatsky, who also wrote the screenplay. Despite being filmed entirely in Estonia (a USSR Republic at the time) the film was released internationally under the English Title "Stalker". The film takes place in "The Zone", an area with no specific time or location. The film is very peaceful, and instead uses firearms as symbols rather than for action scenes. This film was a partial inspiration for the 2007 Videogame S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, and many of its elements were incorporated into the game.

Note: there may be spoilers in the descriptions and images.

The following guns were used in the movie Stalker
__TOC__<br clear="all">

Thompson M1928A1
In the dream sequence we can see a Thompson Submachine Gun submerged in water. It is difficult to discern the exact model, but it is most likely a M1928A1. The Soviet Union received a number of M1928A1s during WWII as part of lend-lease program. They were included as standard equipment in M3 light tanks, but never used because .45 ACP ammunition was not standard in Russia at the time. It is possible that the film makers could have obtained on of these military surplus weapons. Another Thompson is seen being fired by one of the guards at the Zone checkpoint.

Femaru 37M
One of the scenes features Writer (Anatoly Solonitsyn) taking out a WW2-era Hungarian Femaru 37M before opening a closed door. He is asked to leave it, as "Zone" is not a good place to go around waving weapons. Moments later we see Stalker (Alexander Kaidanovsky) pushing the pistol further into the water, out of the sight.

Unidentified rifle
When three movie protagonists illegally enter the Zone through a checkpoint, the guards start shooting at them. A Thompson (see above) and another unidentified rifle/machine gun on a bipod are used by guards. Unfortunately there is no other take and this weapon probably cannot be identified.

Atomic bomb
It is not a firearm per se, but is included here for completness. Professor (Nikolai Grinko) carries a 20kt atomic bomb to destroy an artifact in the "The Zone"
I've seen every episode, and I have the first three seasons on DVD, so I can cap it eventually, but off the top of my head, an M1911 was used in the episode where Robin Williams guest stars as a man who's wife is shot in a mugging. :Daniel Baldwin's character Beau Felton returns for one episode after Baldwin left the show. His body is found in a house, staged to look like he shot himself in the head with a pistol gripped, pump action shotgun. In reality, he was working undercover, got made, and executed with a bullet to the head, and shot in the head with the shotgun to disguise the bullet wound. --funkychinaman 13:58, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that episode (Bop Gun, I think it's called) was AMAZING. Not only was Robin Williams fantastic in it, but I feel it's one of Melissa Leo's best performances in the series. And I loved how it emphasized the humanity (or inhumanity) of Daniel (not Alec, but they look the same in the 90's!) Baldwin. Yeah, that was definitely a 1911, but I'd guess it was one of those new fangled 1991s or something, cause it was a weird looking 1911. Trail of the Falcon (Original: Spur des Falken) is an East German (DEFA film studio)-USSR (Gruziya-film film studio) adventure film of 1968. In the latter half of the 19th century, gold is discovered in the Black Hills, an area which has already been allocated to the Dakota Indians as a winter reservation in a treaty. Nevertheless, gold diggers, profiteers and adventurers flock to the region. Among them is the hard-hearted land speculator Bludgeon (Hannjo Hasse), who tries to expel the Indians using brutal methods like slaughtering entire herds of buffalo. The Dakotas take their revenge by attacking a Union Pacific train. While Chief Farsighted Falcon (Gojko Mitic) and his men are out hunting, Bludgeon and his gang massacre the Indian village. The Dakota warriors retaliate and soon the gold diggers' town becomes the scene of a giant battle. Only the advancing cavalry manage to head off certain defeat for the Whites. Farsighted Falcon conquers Bludgeon in single combat, however. Gathering up the remaining members of his tribe, he leads them to safety elsewhere.
