==Glock 22==
2nd Generation [[Glock 22]] pistols appears in the film as the main sidearm of Chief Deputy US Marshal Samuel Gerard ([[Tommy Lee Jones]]) and his fellow Marshals. Later in the film, U.S. Diplomatic Security Service Special Agent John Royce ([[Robert Downey Jr.]]) can be seen using one when he and Gerard are pursuing Mark Sheridan ([[Wesley Snipes]]) aboard the cargo ship, breaking up a fight between Sheridan and Gerard by shooting Sheridan in the shoulder after Sheridan gets ahold of Gerard's Glock and pistol-whips Gerard in the back with it. Near the end of the film, Royce attempts to kill Gerard and Sheridan in Sheridan's hospital room, but finds that Gerard has anticipated this and unloaded it when he wasn't looking. When Gerard points out in the hospital that Royce is now carrying a Glock instead of his [[Taurus PT945]] (see below), Royce replies, ''"Yeah, Glock .40, just like yours"''. Gerard also incorrectly states that the G22 can fire underwater (while it can fire a few rounds, it would likely still jam).

==Taurus PT945==
When Royce and Gerard first meet at the plane crash site, Gerard asks to see what kind of weapon Royce is carrying. After jokingly responding, ''"A big one, how 'bout you?"'', Royce produces a chrome-plated [[Taurus PT945]] which Gerard calls a "nickel-plated sissy pistol", advising Royce to get a Glock instead. It's obviously chrome-plated due to the luster and texture of the finish and also because all of the Taurus markings are completely gone when seen close up. This alone is a potential inaccuracy, as the standard sidearm for DSS special agents is the [[SIG-Sauer P228|SIG P228]] or [[SIG-Sauer P229|P229]]. During the manhunt in the swamp, Sheridan takes the pistol from Royce and holds him at gunpoint in a short standoff with Gerard before shooting Gerard in his bulletproof vest in order to make his escape. Royce manages to retake the weapon and later uses the pistol to mortally wound Deputy Marshal Noah Newman ([[Tom Wood]]) when Newman catches Royce about to kill Sheridan in cold blood at the Lorelei Building. Royce then tries to pass it off as Sheridan's gun by filing off the serial number, but Gerard recognizes it from their earlier meeting. This particular pistol would later be reused for an episode of ''[[NCIS - Season 8|NCIS]]''.

==Glock 27==
When boarding the prisoner transport flight, Gerard removes both his Glock 22 and a sub-compact Glock variant that he carries in an ankle holster as a backup weapon. This is most likely a [[Glock 27]], which is chambered for the same .40 Smith & Wesson cartridge as his Glock 22. After this scene, the baby Glock is not seen for the rest of the film, likely lost in the crash-landing incident.

==Kahr K9==
Following the car crash in Chicago, firefighters responding to the accident find a blue steel [[Kahr K9]] hidden in the glove-box of Sheridan's tow truck (although the gun is mostly covered up by the holster it's in, you can see "K9" on the end of the slide). The discovery of this weapon is what leads to Sheridan being arrested for illegal possession of a firearm (because ownership of a handgun in Chicago was illegal at the time of this film).

==Colt Gold Cup National Match Series 80==
Upon reaching New York City, Sheridan meets with an old friend he calls "Sarge" ([[Lorenzo Clemons]]) who provides him with materials needed in his mission to exonerate himself, including a stainless steel [[Colt Gold Cup National Match|Colt Gold Cup National Match Series 80]]. He then uses it when he confronts Agent Barrows ([[Rick Snyder]]) in the cemetery, pistol-whipping him in the face and holding him at gunpoint with it. He then uses it in the ensuing shootout with Xian Chen, and while being pursued to the Lorelei Building by Gerard and company. Interestingly, Gerard can be seen holding this pistol in promotional material for the film, but never uses one on-screen.

==Maverick 88==
A [[Maverick Model 88]] shotgun with pistol grip is recovered by Gerard from a baby's crib during the fugitive arrest in the beginning of the film. The Maverick 88 is an inexpensive version of the [[Mossberg 500]]. One of the suspects tries to get this weapon so that he can shoot Deputy Marshal Noah Newman, but Newman shoots him with his Glock 22 in the shoulder before he can do this. Gerard later takes this weapon and uses it to intimidate another suspect. It is noted as a Maverick 88 by its safety moved from the receiver tang to the trigger guard.

==XL-17 Pen Gun==
While on board the prisoner transport flight, a prisoner retrieves an [[Assassination Device|XL-17 pen gun]] hidden in a roll of toilet paper in the lavatory. The prisoner then attempts to use the weapon to kill Sheridan but fails, the shot shattering a window of the plane and causing an explosive decompression that sucks the would-be assassin and several other prisoners and guards out of the plane and forces an emergency landing. Of course, a single bullet hole cannot cause explosive decompression in real life.

==Winchester 1887==
Upon arriving in the present (believed to be 1995 in the film), the Terminator Model T-800 ([[Arnold Schwarzenegger]]) enters a biker bar and takes the clothes and firearm off a biker. As he prepares to leave on the biker's Harley Fatboy, the T-800 is confronted by the bar owner, who fires a warning shot from his sawed-off [[Winchester Model 1887|Winchester 1887]]. The Terminator coolly walks over and snatches the gun from his hand.

Three versions of the gun were used during filming. The first was the iconic "Rosebox Shotgun" with a sawed off barrel and stock and the trigger guard cut out. This is the gun seen through most of the film. The second version had a large lever loop so the gun could be flip cocked one-handed while riding a motorcycle (similar to the actions seen in ''[[True Grit]]'' and ''[[The Rifleman]]''). James Cameron says in the commentary how Arnold accidentally picked up the wrong shotgun and tried to flip cock it and nearly broke three fingers. The third gun was the rubber prop gun for stunt work. The Terminator keeps the gun as his main weapon for a good portion of the film until he comes upon Sarah Connor's ([[Linda Hamilton]]) armory, where more superior weapons are at his disposal.

Since Winchester had stopped producing the Winchester 1887 shotgun before the film, the armorers had to find pristine condition guns which were no longer in production! The guns in the film are indeed genuine Winchester shotguns and not a foreign copy such as the Norinco YL1887L (which wasn't released until 2002) or any of the Aldo Uberti copies (they weren't producing an 1887 shotgun at the time). The report of the shotgun is said to be two cannons firing at once.

==Colt Commando CAR-15 Variants==
Sarah is seen using a [[M16 rifle series#Colt XM177/CAR-15/Commando Series|Colt Commando CAR-15]] carbine (in reality a Colt Sporter II carbine chopped down and mocked up as a Colt 629) out of the armory from the Mojave desert to attempt to assassinate Miles Dyson ([[Joe Morton]]) when she learns he started the project which lead to the machines being built. She removes the flash hider and adds a sound suppressor, along with a laser pointer and an ACOG scope. Later in the film during the scene in which Sarah, John, and the T-800 try to escape in a SWAT van as the T-1000 pursues in a police chopper, Sarah uses two CAR-15 rifles, one a mock Sporter II the other a slab-side AR-15 Sporter 1 carbine converted to look like a CAR-15 as well (like the guns in ''[[The Dogs of War]]''). The last instance a CAR-15 is used is when the Terminator takes a Mock Sporter II and climbs onto the front of the liquid nitrogen truck the T-1000 is driving and fires it through the windshield. James Cameron commented how foolish this stunt was because it was done exactly as it is seen in the film, from a moving truck with no wires attached.

Sarah Connor ([[Linda Hamilton]]) retrieves a [[M1911#Detonics ServiceMaster|Detonics 1911]] custom gun from the armory in the Mohave desert and takes it with her on her mission to kill Miles Dyson ([[Joe Morton]]). Sarah manages to wound him with the gun before she realizes what she is doing and stops. The gun was custom built for the movie by Detonics off of their ServiceMaster model and features their signature forward mounted rear sight and a long slide. ==Colt/Detonics M1911A1 Series 70 Hybrid==
When the Terminator ([[Arnold Schwarzenegger]]) first arrives in the present, he enters a biker bar and asks The Cigar Smoking Biker ([[Robert Winley]]) to give him his clothes, his boots, and his motorcycle. After a fight breaks out, the Terminator throws the biker on a stove's hot burners and burns him badly. He then tries to draw his custom [[M1911A1#Colt/Detonics M1911A1 Series 70 Hybrid|Colt/Detonics M1911A1 Series 70 Hybrid ]] pistol built with a Colt Series 70 slide, a Detonics frame, an ambidextrous safety, with Pachmyr grips, and chambered in 9mm (because .45s don't cycle well as blanks) but is unable to chamber it an has the gun taken from him. Later when John and the T-800 break Sarah out of the mental hospital, she takes the M1911A1 and fires it at the T-1000 and keeps it as her sidearm until she retrieves her custom Detonics 1911. During the shootout at Cyberdyne, the T-800 uses the M1911A1 to wound all of the SWAT officers in the lobby before the gun goes empty and he tosses it away. Even though he is never seen picking it back up, he somehow has it tucked in his pants and ready to shoot the T-1000, frozen in liquid nitrogen, at the end of the film.

The T-800 ([[Arnold Schwarzenegger]]) takes an [[M79 grenade launcher]] from Sarah's arsenal in the Mojave desert. During the assault on the Cyberdyne building, the T-800 uses the M79 grenade launcher, first to blast open a locked door, then to destroy several of the police cars assembled outside, then during the ensuing car chase when the T-1000 persues the protagonists in a comandeered tanker truck, the Terminator scoring a direct hit on the engine with the M79, though the truck miraculously continues running. He also tries to use it on the T-1000 during the fight in the steel mill, eventually using it to knock the T-1000 into the pit of molten steel. By this point, part of the launcher's stock has been shattered during the fight, but enough remains for the weapon to be usable. In reality, 40mm HE rounds have a safety mechanism in which they will not detonate until they have flown a certain distance. In the film, this safety mechanism is disregarded as rounds detonate 30 feet from the user.

Several times in the film, stunt doubles are seen used during some of the more extreme scenes. This was back before editors could digitally modify the stunt double's face to look like the actual actors. By converting the film to 1080p Digital DVD, these doubles become quite noticable.

==Payback==
In the extended cut, Douglas ([[Ken Gibbel]]) hits Sarah in the stomach with his billy club so he can force feed her her medication. Gibbel didn't want to hurt Linda so he kept pulling the swing, but she had to fall to the ground on her knees the same every time. He did this so much, her knees got bruised up quite badly. If you watch the scene, it is clearly sped up for this exact reason. When Sarah escapes her cell, she breaks off a broom handle and uses it to hit Douglas repeatedly until he is unconcious. As payback for her bruised knees, every blow Linda inflicts on Gibbel is real and not pulled.

The driver underestimated him because when Robert started chasing him, he not only caught up with Eddie, he tapped him on the shoulder. Robert is an insanely fast runner.

The "Molten" Steel pit in the steel mill, called "The Spoof Pit" by the crew, was composed of an unknown liquid illuminated by orange fluorescent lights with pieces of plastic floating in it to resemble authentic molten steel. It is used to destroy the T-1000 when he is knocked into the pit and the T-800 uses it to destroy himself with the help of Sarah. With the lights heating the liquid, it was actually pretty hot in the pit. Isn't it interesting how when the T-1000 falls into the pit, he is in extreme pain, yet when the T-800 is lowered in, he seems to feel perfectly content? A matter of perspective I guess.

== (Fake) Colt XM177 ==

[[M16 rifle series#Colt XM177/CAR-15/Commando Series|Colt XM177 Commando]] look-a-like rifles seen being used by many of the Marines. Mason and Goodspeed take two for themselves later in the film. The XM177s in the film all have 10" barrels and bulky older-style flash suppressors, but also have various receiver styles. Some have A1 receivers, others have A2 receivers, and others have the forward assist and brass deflector but not the A2-style rear sight. What this means is that none of them are factory XM177 variants. Like most of the "XM177s" seen in Hollywood, the upper receivers of the guns in this movie are most likely taken from civilian AR-15 carbine variants that have had their barrels chopped and fake XM177-style flash hiders welded on. The lower receivers (all of which seem to lack "fencing" of more modern M16 variants) may either be from genuine XM177s, or they may again be civilian AR15 Sporter-1 lowers converted to auto. Yet another example of movie "Franken-guns" built from the parts of many weapons.

A notable goof is that the receivers of the guns held by individual characters change throughout the film. For instance, the XM177 handed to Goodspeed by Mason clearly has an A2 receiver when he first gets it, but later, it has an A1 receiver. Captain Frye's ([[Gregory Sporleder]]'s) XM177 also undergoes various receiver changes - in the shower room scene, it has an A2-style receiver, while in later scenes it has a forward assist and brass deflector but no A2-style rear sight, and still later it has just the forward assist (A1-style receiver).

==M203 Grenade Launcher==
While CM203 flare launchers dominate the film, Cpt. Darrow's rifle is fitted with a real [[M203 grenade launcher]], likely because he is a main character. Throughout the film, the rifle this launcher is fitted to changes from a slab-side [[M16#M16 Rifle|M16 (SP1)]], to an [[M16#M16A1 Rifle|M16A1]], and at one point, even a [[M16#Colt XM177/CAR-15/Commando Series|Colt CAR-15 Commando]], although it is fitted with a CM203 launcher instead.

== Colt M1911A1 ==

The main villain of the film, General Frank Hummel ([[Ed Harris]]) carries a stainless [[M1911 pistol series|Colt M1911A1]] as his sidearm of choice throughout the film. It is seen being pulled out by Hummel, who then shoots Sergeant Crisp during the confrontation.

== Heckler & Koch MP5A3/A5 ==

A [[Heckler & Koch MP5#Heckler & Koch MP5A3|Heckler & Koch MP5A3]] with an SEF trigger group is used by SEAL Commander Anderson ([[Michael Biehn]]). A [[Heckler & Koch MP5#Heckler & Koch MP5A5|Heckler & Koch MP5A5]] is also seen in the hands of one of the Navy SEALs. Mason commandeers one from a dead SEAL and uses it for about 1/3 of the film until he heads off to confront Hummel and stop him from killing the civilian.
(in an interesting note, the SEALs use Chalker Slings for their weapons, designed by Denny Chalker, plank-holder in SEAL Team SIX. Chalker also appears in the film as one of the SEALs (Boyer). Another of his teammates, Harry Humphries, is the Navy Admiral who asks to bring in the SEAL leader after the initial ransom call)

A handful of the MP5s used by the SEALs also appear to be chopped and converted 16" barrel civilian semi-auto [[Heckler & Koch MP5#Heckler & Koch HK94|Heckler & Koch HK94]]s with the barrels chopped down and converted to full auto. These lack barrel lugs and paddle magazine releases, as well as no push pin lower reciever and a right handed only selector switch with the old 0-1-2 switch.

This is the same kind of brake shown on Tremors 2 or Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Albeit, it was nowhere near as good as the current one.

When Goodspeed is messing around in his office, he shoots a flip down target with a suction dart spring gun labeled "The Protector". It appears to be based off a Mossberg 500 "Cruiser" with barrel ribbing.
