M16A2
During the battle inside the Bus Depot, one of the assassins fires a full auto M16A2. The real M16A2 is a three shot burst weapon, so this is a 'fake' M16A2 often seen in films (Consisting of an A2 rifle and upper receiver mated with a full-auto A1 lower receiver). In some shots there are marks on the barrel that resemble the cutouts of an M4, however upon closer inspection, they are wear marks from either a non-standard laser or flashlight mount.
Fake MATADOR Rocket Launcher
One of Wall Street's assassins uses a mocked up launcher that somewhat resembles the MATADOR Missile Launcher, however, the method of launching is completely different. It loads (and reloads) in the rear like an M1A1 Bazooka and fires 'self guiding' rockets that appear to be able to make 90 degree turns in flight.
I notice towards the end of Bangkok Dangerous (2008), Joe (Nicholas Cage) was shooting his pistol at his double-crossing client driving away in his Mercedes. When in the close-ups, Joe was carrying a Glock in his left hand, but at the "firing" scenes, the pistol is now a Beretta-type handgun.
AW-looking rifle NOT an L96A1, but it can't be an R700 with AICS
On the page, it says because of the folding stock, the rifle may be a Remington 700 with an AICS stock. However, the bolt handle is that of an Accuracy International-produced rifle. I'd say it's an Arctic Warfare. --Jeddostotle7-- 9:51, 30 June 2012 (PST)
:The bolt handle is not from an Accuracy International rifle, as the stalk of the bolt handle is straight as opposed to an an AI where it sweeps backwards, and the knob is too large to be a genuine AI one. My guess is that it is a 700 in an AICS, but is just a more convincing job than most. First tell tale sign is that it seems to have a round receiver, although it is hard to tell. Secondly, there is not enough "bolt" coming out the back of the receiver. Thridly the magazine is too long for any AI magazine, but you do get magazine that long for the AICS depending on capacity and caliber. Lastly, on an AI there is a circular cut out in the stock for the bolt to turn down into, as opposed to on this gun where there is a cutout with a separate square bushing like on the AICS. It has been fitted with an Arctic Warfare style flash hider and a round bolt handle making it look more like an AI AW than most though. --commando552 17:17, 3 July 2012 (CDT)
LAPD
I'm pretty sure that the film takes place in Los Angeles ( The police officers uniform). the film was made in 1992, many years after they introduced the Beretta 92fs but they officers chasing Mr. pink wield Smith & Wesson model 19's.
:Yeah the movie takes place in Los Angeles. A lot of LAPD officers were still carring revolvers in the 1990s, though.--Oliveira 14:49, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
::Weren't LAPD officers who were issued revolvers allowed to carry them after the Beretta was introduced if they wanted to? I'm pretty sure the NYPD was like that, so maybe LAPD too. But most likely the reason is due to the films budget. --Predator20 14:53, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
::::Only old timers were allowed to keep their revolvers. The YOUNG officers as seen in the film would not have revolvers, nor would have been allowed to ask for one. MoviePropMaster2008 04:09, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
:Yes, this movie was made in 1992 and the LAPD switched to semi-autos in 1988, so only officers who were on the force for about 5 years would be allowed to carry revolvers. MPM is right, these officers are definitely rookies, and therefore shouldn't be carrying revolvers. But, yes, Predator, this movie was very low budget. In fact, several of the actors wore their own clothes (Chris Penn is wearing his own personal track suit, Steve Buscemi wears his own black jeans in lieu of suit pants) and the Cadillac Michael Madsen gets gasoline out of was actually his own Cadillac. So I'm assuming that revolvers were just easier to get because semi-autos were much more innovative and, therefore, more expensive, whereas revovlers have been around for a while and were still pretty popular at the time. At least, that's what my guess is.

BTW: Although, in the past, LADP officers were allowed to carry .357 magnum revolvers as long as they carried them loaded with .38 special ammo, by 1992 only .38 special revolvers were allowed (some officers loaded their sixguns with .357 ammo, regulations notwithstanding). Therefore, cops carrying a S&W 19 and a Colt Trooper is another (minor) mistake of the movie Rafa

:So I'm assuming that revolvers were just easier to get because semi-autos were much more innovative and, therefore, more expensive, whereas revovlers have been around for a while and were still pretty popular at the time. At least, that's what my guess is.

:Cost has nothing to do with it. Movie guns are always rented, not bought, and I'm pretty sure that the rental fees for handguns are relatively uniform, regardless of type. I'm guessing that the cops carry revolvers because this makes them outgunned by the robbers with their high-capacity S&W autos. If the LAPD officers who chased Mr. Pink had been carrying 15-shot Berettas instead of revolvers, he wouldn't have been able to hold them off while making his escape nearly as easily. -MT2008

Mr. White's S&W 659
I disagree with the fact that Mr. White's S&W 659 is his "issued weapon". I believe that both his S&W 639 and S&W 659 are his personal weapons. In a deleted scene where Freddy Newandyke (Mr. Orange) is reading Larry Dimmick's (Mr. White) criminal record, it states that Dimmick is known for using TWO Smith & Wesson 9mm pistols. One as his primary sidearm, the other as a backup (and he always carries a back up, it states). Furthermore, his nickname, according to his record, is "Two Guns". Now, while it is clear that the 639 is his primary, it is more likely that the 659 is his backup, not an issued weapon for the heist. Although there is the possibility that there are no issued weapons given to the thieves, and that they just all happen to opt to carry S&W 659s, there isn't any strong evidence to back this up (except in Mr. White's case). -Gunman69 23:32, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

That's a very interesting point. Someone had posted that in the deleted scene, white carried only one S&W 9mm. That and the fact that everyone had a 659 was all I had to go on the "personal gun" theory. I've never seen the deleted scene so I don't know what it includes or how to interpret it myself. I seriously doubt absolutely everyone prefers a 659 though and has one for theirslef, and stick to the theory that they were issued. For example, we have an ex-con (Blonde) who was more than likely given the gun by Joe, and Orange who already had guns, but ended up having a 659 also. The thing about the deleted scene evidence too is that.... it's a deleted scene, and it's not included in the actual movie, and whether it was deleted for what I'm saying or another reason entirely, it doesn't really count as far as the final cut goes, so therefore, White, for whatever reason, has a 639, which has to be a personal gun as no one else has one, and everyone else has a 659, and Whites may or may not be personal, but it's equally possible it's either one, and since everyone has a 659 and not a 639, we can more easily lean toward the theory that they were all issued. Also, Pink's holstered gun when he gets punched is a 6906, not a 669, please stop changing it. --Yournamehere 19:37, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

:As far as the 6906 goes, I thought maybe it'd be a 669 just because all the other guns were 2nd gen, so it would make sense, but I'm not going to pursue that argument. But in the deleted scene it specifically states TWO S&Ws, not one like someone previously stated. I suppose there is also the possibility that Mr. White carried TWO S&W 639s, as well as his issued weapon. That actually makes sense if it wasn't a coincidence that Mr. White carries the same gun that is issued by Joe Cabot. Something to think about. Also, I got the 15th anniversary edition of the movie, and I wasn't sure if you used that for your screencaps. If you didn't, I'd like to upload these pics from MY movie because they are WAY clearer than my old ones (and they look brighter than the ones currently up). If you used the 15th anniversary too, then there were going to be a couple screencaps I was going to add. Just thought I should let you know. :) -Gunman69 00:13, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, and the scene where they say he carries two was deleted, and therefore doesn't matter as far as the plot goes. I already stated this.....

I used the Tenth anniversary version for my caps, and they look fine. You said yours were better before, and after a vote they were considered worse, so don't say that they are better, show everyone. If you do add anything, make sure it's sized like the rest of them.

And with the 6906, it has a one piece wraparound grip, and the red dots that indicate that the safety is off are on the frame and not on the slide as seen on 2nd gen models. It's a 6906.

Smith & Wesson Automatics
Why does Smith & Wesson consistantly upgrade their automatic handguns? Not just the handguns for that matter but all their guns. Don't get me wrong I love Smith & Wesson firearms, but as soon as they see one little fault they immediatly upgrade it. Look over the Smith & Wesson pages. You will see that the revolvers and handguns all have the same features but slighty upgraded improvements when you go along further.

Because when you find out that your product has a fault that could possibly affect whether an innocent person lives or dies, why wouldn't you want to upgrade your product so that people feel confident using it? hell in this day and age, i wouldn't be surprised if someone could sue S&W for their gun being faulty if they have to use it in a life or death situation, and the gun jams due to something that should've been fixed.Kornflakes89 15:43, 7 February 2012 (CST)

Actually the upgrades are made to simplify manufacturing. Since most of S&W autos were steel framed, they simplified the machining to decrease wear on their tooling reduce cost.

S&W 5906
Is it possible that the S&W "659"'s with the rounded trigger guards are actually 5906's? A continuity error? I don't see a 659 with a round trigger guard on the S&W 659 page, so it's just a thought.

Re: rally's sleeve gun
This article seems to be conflating the manga and anime versions, however, since it's been a while since I watched it, I don't like to disrupt things I'm not certain of. I don't recall the details as the anime presents them, but in the manga, in fact, the Colt .25 is a gun that Rally keeps under her pillow at night - it only appears in the manga issue where she is kept in hospital overnight and can't sleep without its familiar feel and smell under her pillow. Her sleeve-mounted gun is a Czech-made Duo (like this one), also in .25 (or 6.35mm) and can be distinguished from the Colt .25 by its sawnoff trigger guard, while the Colt still has a trigger guard. At a later stage in the manga's story she bemoans all her guns being confiscated by the police, in which she refers to the Duo by name.

Also, (IIRC) the anime and manga differ regarding her spring-rigged sleeve armature, in that in the manga it is triggered by pulling a string, rather than flexing her wrist. This is clearly visible in the story where a thug holds Minnie-Mae hostage and forces her to strip, during which process she pops the Duo out and shoots his trigger finger off. I think the anime simplified this as simply popping out with a flick of the wrist.
I'm Wiki-stupid so if someone is able to edit the main page, here are a couple of guns on Rally's wall that I've identified:

1. In the picture of the guy holding the Steyr AUG, the gun in the top left corner of the picture, hanging on Rally's wall is either a Smith & Wesson Model 1 or Model 2 (most likely a #2).

2. Right below that appears to be a Remington 1858 New Army (cap and ball) or a Remington 1875 (cartridge) revolver.
Welrod
Can I get some other peoples opinions on if the Welrod is a Mark I or a Mark II. I say it's a incorrectly scaled Mark II due to the lack of a trigger guard, Tim says it's a Mark I with the suppressor detached. What do you guys think? Personally I'll go with ether one at this point. - Mr. Wolf 16:23, 2 August 2011 (CDT)

:I agree with you that it is a Mark II. Firstly, it lacks a trigger guard as you said. Secondly, in the shots where the sight is at the front and there is a possibility it is a Mark I with silencer removed, that isn't at all like what the front of a Welrod looks like when you remove the silencer. The gun has a male thread around the outside of the jacket for a couple of centimetres, and the barrel protrudes out slightly into the silencer. In these pictures however, you can clearly see the muzzle is set back into the hollow end cap of the silencer. I think the extreme angles and poor scaling are to blame for its rather short look in the front-on pics. More specifically, I would call it a Mark IIA as the ejection port is not a smooth oval shape, and the front sight post is of the shorter type and set back from the muzzle. --commando552 19:09, 2 August 2011 (CDT)
Early CZ75 vs Current CZ75
Rally mentions how the earlier version has harder steel and is more accurate than current production CZ75. I believe this is mostly myth and stems from Cold War nostalgia. Modern CZ75 are just as good if not better. The material today is much better quality and more consistent quality control than under communist management. Also the new CZ75 is produced on modern machines which gives it cleaner machining and closer tolerances. If I were Rally, I wouldn't mind because a CZ75 made today is just as good as a early production CZ75.

He preferred using iron sights because he could present a smaller target, without having to raise his head to the scope, as well in the cold climate of the Winter War, scopes could fog up. The original M16 wasn't used by the Marines, Only by the Air Force. The Marines and Army (not sure about Navy) used the XM16E1 and M16A1, and since the film takes place in 1968, they should be using the M16A1, not the original M16(SP1). Is that a G3 variant? Look at where the buttstock joins the receiver (the two bolts), and the pistol-grip. They are distinctly G3-ish. Also, in comparison to the other arms on the gun-rack, it would be of the appropriate length.SAWGunner89 21:38, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
During the opening sequence summing up the past, Hippies stick flowers into US Army Military Policemen's M1 Garand rifles before the MPs fire them on the hippies, flowers still in the muzzles. This is an homage to the famous photograph where a protestor places a flower in the barrel of an MP's M14 Rifle. In reality, MPs in the U.S. did use M14 Rifles during this time period. National Guardsmen (as in the Kent State shooting in 1970) were armed with M1 Garands.
A thug is seen foiled by The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in the opening credits while firing an Colt M1921AC Thompson into the air. In the special features the gun is revealed to be a specially built prop (likely a battery operated airsoft gun) that cycles the bolt slowly so the shot could be achieved. A rod was attached to the barrel to keep it level, as the weight would surely make holding it at such an angle one-handed difficult.
Trivia: Pre-9/11
In one scene, we see a view from Adrian Veidt's (Matthew Goode) building revealing the World Trade Center (Twin Towers) still standing. Since the film takes place in 1985 (well before September 11, 2001), it is historically accurate for the towers to still be standing in the New York City skyline.
Response from Anonymous: Two of Gettler's thugs are using H&K UMP.45s with laser scopes and silencers. They are clearly UMP.45s due to their forward handgrip and straightened clip.

:::UMP40s also have straight mags and you can put a forward handgrip on almost any submachine gun with rails. I'm not saying they're not UMP45s, but if that's all you're basing that on... -Funkychinaman

:Tsk, Tsk, Magazine. A clip loads a magazine. A bolt action rifle like a Mauser 98 has an internal magazine which you load with a clip, or stripper clip in this manner. Now, if you refer to a magazine as a "clip", that would mean you would be loading a clip with a clip. ?? Now you can't load a clip with a clip because then you'd be smacking to en-blocs or stripper clips together like an idiot. And you can't load a magazine with a magazine, that also proves to be a problem. But you can load a magazine with a clip. See the confusion in using improper designation? -GM

::Also, I really get sick of editing pages to replace the word "silencer" with "suppressor". -MT2008

To be fair several suppressor/sliencer manufactuters use the term "silencer" to describe there product, such as YHM, AAC, AWC, Gemtech, KAC and HTG. Also while speakaing with various employees of the said companies at the SHOT Shows, they often use the term "silencer". Gunner313

It can be either, i use suppressor but some of my friends prefere silencer, its like slang really. Also in ww2 they managed to create a pistol which couldn't be heard by humans, it didn't have a barrel just a built in suppressor which was pretty long, you had to be standing very close to the target to hit it but worked. (statichunter 2012)
:I think the point is you can never really fully silence a gun, but you can suppress it. --Predator20 05:22, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

::To silence a gun 100% I would think is nearly impossible, but to lower the noise of the shot to below human hearing is probably feasible, but not practical. The "silencer" would be so large that the gun would be extremely barrel heavy, and the bullet would have to be subsonic prior to exiting said silencer. All these limit the gun's effectiveness, and lets face it, the point of a suppressor is to attract less attention to yourself when firing. At the range you'd be limited to, you might as well be holding a sign above your head saying, "I have a silenced gun!" At least that's what I think. Anyone care to comment? -Tal379

I wasn't talking about the definition of "silencer". But on the note of a " silencer". Example; on a two stroke motocross bike the rear portion of the exhuast is called the silencer and the front part the expansion chamber. No the silencer doesn't completey muffle the sound, it just reduces it. Yes it would make sense to only call it a muffler, but many words used to describe a product do not describe what it actually does. One last example off the top of my head refering to what an item does; ram air induction on a production vehicle doesn't ram air into the engine, it simple allows an easier path and an adaquate amount of air to reach the air/fuel mixture area. But it is still called ram air. You can't take the word "silencer" or any other name of a product and expect it to be an accurate representation of what the product does, it is just a name. Gunner313

Gunner. The ram air effect that you says doesn't do anything, on a 600cc motorcycle the ram air effect at speed can increase the engines power by as much as 8-10%, compared to what it has when stationary. So it does RAM air into the air box.
How do you think the Ram Jet engine on the SR-71 Blackhawk works? Rob the Fiend
What does bond do when he's putting away his P99? it seems like he decocks just before he puts it aways yet this gun is a DAO and lacks a decocker from what i can see. what is he doing exactly?
--FIVETWOSEVEN 20:39, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

@FIVETWOSEVEN: you´re talking about the Prague scene? well he is just decocking it, they´re several variants of the P99 and Bond is using the P99 AS (Anti-stress version) which has a decocker on the slide...

:Bond is not using the P99 AS in this movie; he's using the first-generation (1990s) production model, the oldest version. He isn't actually decocking it; the foley editor just inserts the sound of the gun being decocked. Sound editors tend to be ignorant about how guns work, which is why you often "hear" actors cocking non-existent "hammers" on Glocks and other such pistols in movies whenever they're drawn. This is the same case. -MT2008 23:17, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

:That´s right, he is using the first generation P99, and Walther changed the name of the current production P99 to P99 AS (that´s why I used the term "Anti-Stress"). But the technics (single/double action trigger) are the same on both weapons, and as a owner of a first generation P99 I can say that there is a decocker on the frame. And Bond is obviously using it as he puts his thumb exactly on the position of the decocking button and presses it down, which makes sense to carry his gun safe after using it. If you watch the scene in slow-motion, you´ll recognize it! -REAPER 04 February 2010
A P99 from the movie was photographed and uploaded here. If you look at the left side view, just in front of the rear sights, you can see the decocker button. --Crazycrankle 23:37, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
so what about a S&W Sigma as seen earlier in the movie.. that has a rounded trigger guard

The Trigger Guard is certainly rounded, and the weapon is FAR too small to be an MK23.--Jackie.45Cal 14:46, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
I am 90% sure that the pistol used by Mr White isn't a SIG-Sauer p230. It looks like a full-sized pistol to me. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's a 1911 variant of some sort, but it's pretty much complete speculation, since I was watching the movie on tv and didn't stop to look real close. - TrueBeliever19 00:35, 20 March 2011
Watch the behind the scenes in the special features.. it has a good shot of Mr White from a different angle and the gun can be seen alot clearer. Its definately bigger than a P230 and way smaller than a MK23

I know you do sometimes see semi auto pistols "clicking" empty in movies, but if it's not a .45, and he fired 8 rounds, wouldn't it simpler to assume it just failed to fire? He only fired 8 shots, wasn't really spraying, and he is a bomb maker as well as a free runner after all; someone who does those two things should be able to tell the difference between 8 and 13/14 rounds. Under stress, it could be possible to accidently ride your thumb on top of the slide release preventing it from locking on the last round. Its used to happen to me when using a high grip on SIGs and Berettas until I altered my grip and pointed my thumb down.
I think we're assuming that based on the fact Bond's PPK in both the Novel and Film versions of Dr. No and in Goldeneye is namechecked as a 7.65mm. The Wierd It 10:34, 27 January 2012 (CST)
Reloading the P99
I removed the comment about reloaing the Walther P99 because I rewatched the movie last night and he doesn't reload, he simply ejects the mag and checks his ammo. I also have to say I am always impressed by Craig's gun handleing in this film, he correctly uses his decocker on the P99 and applies the safety to the Hi-Power. I also noticed correct trigger dicipline on several occasions so goo job to Daniel Craig! I want to mention my theroy on how he had a PPK in Quantum of Solace. He uses a PPK in the opening fight in Casino Royale, so maybe he had it as a backup. He lost the P99 in the last shootout so maybe he didn't have time to get a new P99 in Quantum of Solace. --Yo dawg 111 08:59, 26 February 2012 (CST)

:I really can't tell if this is a P229, but I would guess not. The factory two-tone P229 available in those days had nickel controls (though it could also be a blued 229 with an after-market nickel finish on the slide). But I would guess that this is more likely to be the P239 that is also used by Seamus. -MT2008 16:32, 16 November 2011 (CST)
::I tend to agree with Commando. I think it's a P229 as well. I think that diagonal line on the frame IS the step for the widened part of the frame for the double stack magazines. The P239 definitely has no visible lines on the right side of the frame. Also, the P229 has a longer, slightly more prominent hammer spur like the one seen in the pic, whereas the P239 has a considerably shorter, more low-profile hammer spur. And that looks like a stainless steel finish rather than nickle-plated, which have been available on most SIG pistols for many years including both the P229 and P239. A good determining factor would be a better view of the trigger guard as they have slightly different shapes on the P229 vis the P239, but that part may be tucked too far into the trousers to see on any pic. --Travestytrav 20:31, 16 November 2011 (CST)
:::I have this movie on Blu-ray now, and you guys are right - it is indeed a P229, contrary to my expectations. Surprised I missed the bulges on the frame indicating a 229 (or any SIG pistol taking a double-stack magazine). But it's not a factory two-tone job - it must have been a regular blued 229 that had its slide re-finished. Otherwise, as I said earlier, it would have nickel controls as well as slide. -MT2008 11:12, 20 November 2011 (CST)
