Leon Kennedy's standard weapon, the Handgun is often mistaken for an HK USP. However, Ryoumura Jyoshin (the weapon designer for the Devil May Cry, Biohazard and Dino Crisis series) claims that he designed the weapon himself with no individual base model. Anatomically, the Handgun bears a very close resemblance to the Smith & Wesson Sigma, especially in the slide, magazine, and lower frame. In the game the gun has brown checked grips and a stainless steel slide. The weapon however is shown with a hammer as opposed to a striker. It also features an extended barrel, threaded for sound suppressor which is not a feature on the S&W Sigma pistols but are featured in the HK USP.

Albert Wesker uses this weapon in the Mercenaries Mini game, albeit equipped with a suppressor.

Punisher (FN Five-seveN)
Based off of Fabrique Nationale's Five-seveN handgun which normally chambers the 5.7mm cartridge originally intended to pierce low-levels of body armor. The version seen in-game chambers regular 9mm Parabellum. In game the weapon has the ability to pierce shields and multiple enemies, like the real thing would.

This weapon can be purchased from the Merchant, or won in a contest after shooting ten of fifteen blue targets scattered across two areas. If all targets have been shot, the Punisher will have a free upgrade added onto it, making it slightly more powerful than the standard Handgun.

The gun is used by Ada in Assignment Ada and The Mercenaries, and by Leon in the main game.

Red 9 (Mauser C96 Red 9)
A 9mm version of the Mauser C96 handgun, one of the first automatic handguns to enter production in the world. The Red9 version was developed during World War I and chambered 9mm Parabellum to keep ammo supplies standard, but when soldiers began to load the weapon with the wrong type of ammunition, a large Red 9 was placed on the grip to differentiate the model from the standard Mauser.

This weapon can be purchased from the Merchant, along with a stock which improves its accuracy significantly.

Vagrant Spaniard Luis Sera uses this as his sidearm in the main game.

Blacktail (Springfield Armory XD-9)
Purchased from the Merchant. Ada uses this as her sidearm in the main game and Seperate ways. Leon uses it in The Mercenaries.

Matilda (HK VP-70)
Unlocked to be purchased from the Merchant after successfully completing the Normal difficulty of the game. Same gun Leon has in Resident Evil 2. Fires three-round bursts. The gun's name is a reference to the movie Leon The Professional, though they have spelled Mathilda's name incorrectly.

Magnums
Broken Butterfly (S&W Schofield Model 3 & Colt Single Action Army Hybrid)
Notice the revolver is a top-break revolver, there are few revolvers it could be. May be found in a section of the castle after freeing Ashley, or may be purchased from the Merchant.

The weapon contains both S&W Schofield Model 3 and Colt Single Action Army features. The barrel's frame resembles Model 3, while the body frame is nearly identical to Colt S.A.A which reflect two entirely-different reloading actions: while the Model 3 supports break handle to reduce time, the S.A.A requires direct ejection for each shell from the back. Even the in-game weapon has S.A.A hammer and back loading hole, the animation shows its actual system to be Model 3's. Despite both original guns being single action, it is seen firing in double action mode.

However, no weapon like this might exist in the real world, not only because of the two different branches, but different calibers. It uses the same ammunition as Killer7 despite the modern .45 ACP is not fully interchangeable with some early .45 versions, especially between Revolvers and Pistols.

Note: There is also a variant appear in another Capcom's historic Beat-em Up video game Devil Kings (used by Lady Butterfly). Some early Colt revolvers features "Butterfly" as nicknames, contributes its official name Broken Butterfly.

Killer7 (AMT Hardballer)
May be purchased from the Merchant, the only weapon that has no exclusive ability when fully upgraded. The ingame version is equipped with a scope-style laser. The name of the weapon is a reference to the game Killer7, in which the character Kaede uses a similarly modified Hardballer. The design of the gun and Wesker's use of the gun, is a Terminator homage. They look similar and both Wesker and Arnie wear sunglasses.
Get a five-star rank with all characters on all stages (Mercenary Mode). When fully upgraded has infinite ammunition and deals the highest damage of any non-explosive weapon in the game. The in-game weapon is equipped with a laser sight.
TMP (Steyr TMP)
May be purchased from the Merchant. A stock may also be purchased to improve accuracy and reduce recoil. HUNK uses a TMP modified with a fixed stock, foregrip, sawn off barrel, and laser sight in The Mercenaries. Krauser also uses this same modified TMP in his boss battle in the main game. Ada also uses it in Mercenaries and regular game. DEMONICSLAYER64
Unlocked by completing the sidestory assignment Ada and may be purchased from the Merchant for 1 million pesetas after that. Comes with unlimited ammo. If used with the Mafia costume (unique to the PS2 and Wii versions of the game), the gun will appear as the M1921 Thompson.
May be obtained in one of three ways. On Easy mode the weapon is in your inventory, on Normal modes or higher you may obtain it for free in the upstairs section of a house in the Ganados Village, or you may purchase this weapon from the Merchant.

Riot Shotgun (Benelli M3 Super 90)
A stainless shotgun that bears great resemblance of both Benelli M3 and M4 with the collapsible stock and pump action mechanism. It is identically the same version of Assault Shotgun from Resident Evil Remake (2002). Many fans mistakenly claim this one M4, however the real M4 is semi-auto only while M3 has both action types. The in-game version is actually a modified M3, because many of Benelli M1, M3 and M4 stocks are interchangeable, although no such weapon confirmed nor seen in the real world.

The weapon may be purchased from the Merchant from Chapter 3-1. It is also used by Leon in the Mercenaries.
Rifles
Bolt Action Rifle (Springfield M1903A4)
May be purcase from Merchant in Separate Ways. The weapon has a pistol grip and fires explosive arrows.

Rocket Launcher/Special Rocket Launcher/Infinite Launcher (RPG-7)
The standard Rocket Launcher may be purchased any time from the Merchant, or you will find one in the Castle. The Special Rocket Launcher is a special-event item. The Infinite Rocket Launcher is available for purchase from the Merchant upon completion of the game once.

Krauser's Bow
Krauser uses this weapon in Mercenaries minigame. In the main boss battle it fires explosive arrows. Possibly a reference to Rambo. He uses it in war.

Plaga Removal Laser(P.R.L.) 412
Availible after beating game in Professional mode. The weapon uses a light based laser that will annialate anyone/thing in Leon's line of site no aiming required.

Los Illuminados Gatling Gun
Used by a senior monk of the Los Illuminados cult in the Castle section of the game and by the Militia in the Island section, it has alot of barrels but it has an average supressive fire machinegun rate of fire, wich makes all those barrels redundant, it caliber is probably between 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO, maybe even .50 BMG. Cannot be used by the player.

GE M134 Minigun
This gun is used by J.J. (The minigun wielding Gannado) and cannot be used by the player.
It's been confirmed this weapon is in the final game but is labeled the H&K P8(The P8 is used by the the German Army which is actually a USP with small differences such as the safety). It appears to be fitted with a custom compensator in the trailer but is not equipped with one in-game.

The weapon is very much similar to the "Punisher" in Resident Evil 4, in that the weapon has a piercing ability able to penetrate 2 or 3 enemies at a time and flawlessly penetrate wooden shields. The weapon, like most handguns is fitted with under barrel laser sight and can be upgraded to hold more ammo than is realistically possible.

The Beretta M93R is unlocked when one fully upgrades the Beretta 92. The pistol fires in 3 shot bursts but can fire single rounds if the player taps the fire button quickly. In game the optional shoulder stock is permanently attached and there is a laser sight bolted to the frame like a pistol scope in order to accommodate the folding forward hand grip. It's similar to Resident Evil 4's "Matilda" which is a burst firing pistol but can be bought like any other weapon. Surprisingly the Beretta M93R's ammunition capacity tops out at 30 rounds which is equal in capacity to some aftermarket Beretta 92 magazines(which are interchangeable with those of the M93R).
Samurai Edge
This weapon is wielded exclusively by Albert Wesker which he kept presumably after the events of Resident Evil (2002). It is used primarily in the cut scenes during the main game but can be used in the "Mercenaries" mode by equipping Wesker with the S.T.A.R.S. Outfit. This weapon cannot be unlocked and used in the Main game, however this weapon functions nearly identical to the standard 92FS but with a meatier firing sound and more damage with each shot, it's also got a 90% increased criticals available for headshots. Unlike the previous S.T.A.R.S. Samurai Edge pistols, Wesker's features a two chrome finish with Black and Inox Finish and is equipped with an LAM-1000 under the barrel.

The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is a .44 Magnum calibre weapon and is found in Chapter 3-1 on a corpse of a BSAA member in a hut. It can later be purchased for 3000 gold.
Desert Eagle
The Desert Eagle appears in the game marked under the name Lightning Hawk. Calibre is unknown but presumed to be .44 Magnum as the maximum magazine capacity is only 8 rounds and it shares ammo with the Model 29. It can be found in a stone tomb during the battle with Wesker.

the Smith & Wesson Model 500 is another confirmed magnum. The most powerful magnum type weapon it's damage tops out at 5,000 which is higher per single shot that any other in game weapon barring the 30,000 damage delt by the rocket launcher. A single shot is usually enough to take down most foes.

Similar to the "Handcannon" of Resident Evil 4. Only this one is available for purchase after the S&W M29 is fully upgraded.
The Ithaca 37 is the first available shotgun and is a five shot riotgun fitted with a Stakeout model's rear pistol grip. while the weakest of shotguns in game it's capabilities can be upgraded far beyond the real life capabilities of the weapon.
*Plus, even though the Ithaca is supposed to eject downwards, the in-game version ejects to the side, despite there being no ejection port on the side, being covered by the laser sight.
the Benelli M3 Super 90 is the second available shotgun in game. While the magazine capacity can be upgraded to ten rounds this is still more ammunition than the weapon can really carry. Also while all the shotguns in the game use the exact same ammunition the damages done varry wildly.
The Vz 61 Skorpion SA is found very early in the game with a 30 round magazine capacity for starters and like all the other guns, it can be "upgraded" to hold an impossibly huge amount of bullets and do a ridiculous amount of damage. The PAL version of Resident evil 5 features the Scorpion with a 50 round magazine but less damage. Jill carries two Skorpions in-game.
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 is the second submachinegun found in the game and can be bought after that. It like all the other "machine gun" type weapons fire their own set of ammo for the sake of balanced gameplay. In the game, the "ammo" of the MP5 is the same for the AK and the SIG 556. It is seen with a red dot sight that serves no function, flashlight attachment, though never turned on even where flashlights are needed (they would rather carry around a 40-pound lamp and let the other guy do all the fighting by himself) and of course a laser pointer.

The AK-74 is one of the available automatic weapons that can be found in Chapter 5-1, and can later be bought for $4000. The AK-74 is rare in that it's ammunition capacity is almost the same as it's real life counterpart. The real AK-74 being restricted to 30 or 45 round magazines in real life (not counting drum magazines) as opposed to the 50 rounds possible in game.

It's also equipped by some of the Armed Majini in Chapter 5, which they use it against you equipped with green laser sights.
Like the MP5, it is equiped with a EOTech sight that has no function in-game. In real life the PSG-1 can use any magazine that the G3 battle rifle can this includes the G3's 20 round magazine and the 50 round drum magazines used in the HK11 automatic rifle series and the latter MSG-90 sniper rifle.

Equipped by various Armed Majini in Chapter 5 at select stages. Three varieties of this rocket launcher exist. The first is a disposable 1-shot style weapon similar to the RPG-7 in Resident Evil 4, it can be found in the Marshlands on a half sunken boat and can bought after that for $10,000. The Second type is a special RPG-7 fitted with a Nightvision scope and is used exclusively against the battle with Wesker, unlike the previous disposable version this weapon can be reloaded with various RPG ammunition laying around in ammunition crates and barrels but it must be picked up and carried separatly from the launcher requiring your partner to carry the ammunition while another operates and reloads the weapon. The Third and final RPG is an Unlimited version that can be unlocked for use after having a total time of 5:00:00 or less.

- I'm having trouble finding out what kind of Landmine this is, I think it resembles the Russian TMN-46 Anti-Tank mine but the one in-game is mostly used in an anti-personnel role, not anti-tank.

Resident Evil Outbreak: File #1
Resident Evil Outbreak: File #1 is an Online capable Resident Evil game released for the Playstation 2. It revolves around specific survivors attempting to escape from Raccoon City.

Besides the colossal amount of "Melee" type weaponry, various firearms are featured in-game. These weapons feature a damage drop-off, the further the enemy, the less damage that weapon will do.

Firearms in this game are handled differently from previous Resident Evil Games. They suffer from damage drop-off, the further the enemy, the less damage that weapon will do.

Also most weapons reload slowly, characters that are wielding high capacity weapons such as handguns or Machine Gun type weapons require Magazines to reload quickly, otherwise bullets are inserted individually into the magazine but are shown as if the bullets are inserted into the chamber of the weapon, possibly an inaccuracy on capcom's part.

Pistols
Beretta M92FS (Handgun)
Said to be Standard for RPD Officers and is simply labelled as the "Handgun" in-game. It carries 15 rounds of 9x19mm Parabellum bullets and is the most common firearm in the game. Kevin and Alyssa are capable of performing the "Pot-Shot" ability, which increases damage on a per shot basis.

Mark Hamilton, one of the Survivors of the game, carriers a customised Beretta that supposedly inflicts less damage than other handgun, but the damage stays consistent at longer ranges than the traditional Handgun, it is named "Mark's Handgun" and cannot be transferred amongst Characters.

A Handgun Magazine can be found for this weapon in select stages that drastically reduces the reload time, however the Magazine is merely swapped out and that magazine must be reloaded with a new set of bullets.

SIG P228 (Handgun SG)
The SIG P228 is one of the Handgun's commonly found in the "Below Freezing Point" Chapter and is called the "Handgun SG". It fires 9x19mm Parabellum rounds in 13 round magazines. It feature's the worst damage drop-off, doing the most damage at close range. Unlike the Beretta, a Magazine cannot be found for this weapon.

Both Kevin and Alyssa can use their "pot-shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis.

Beretta M93R (Burst Handgun)
Called the Burst Handgun in-game, the Beretta M93R is found inside "The Hive" Chapter. It carries 20 rounds a magazine and uses 9x19mm Parabellum Rounds. It fires in 3 round bursts only and does signifcantly less damage than the other handguns, however it can fire 3 times as fast doing 3 times the damage, so it counters this.

It feature's the same damage drop-off as the Beretta M92FS but lower accuracy as a result. Kevin and Alyssa can NOT use their "Pot-shot" ability to increase the damage of the weapon on a per shot basis.

Kimber Custom TLE II (.45 Auto)
The Kimber Custom TLE II, also called the .45 Auto in-game is Kevin Ryman's personal Handgun. It fires .45 Auto Rounds that comes in silver boxes and has a 7 round capacity magazine. It is effectively a weaker style magnum, being the most powerful non-magnum handgun in-game. Kevin can use his "Pot-Shot" ability to increase the damage by 4x, it has the best damage drop-off, as it's similar to Mark's Handgun.

Kevin's Handgun is fitted with classic wooden grips on the inventory picture but his gun remains black throughout the game. This weapon cannot be transferred amongst characters.

I think it looks more like a Springfield Armory, though.

Shotguns
SPAS 12 (Shotgun)
The SPAS 12 is featured in-game as the Resident shotgun and is commonly used by RPD Officers and the Military in-game. It carries 7 rounds of 12 Gauge shot ammunition. For a shotgun it has appalling damage drop-off at long range, which is often typical in most video games, only showing the shotgun as the close range monster that it is. The SPAS 12 has a wide spread in-game often capable of hitting multiple targets.

Magnums
S&W Model 29 (Magnum Revolver)
The S&W Model 29 is featured as the game's magnum revolver and is simply called "Magnum Revolver". It fire's .44 Magnum Bullets and features a 6 round capacity. It's the most powerful non-explosive weapon available, and the damage is increased 4x times when Kevin or Alyssa use their "pot-shot" ability.

A speed loader can be found for the Magnum Revolver that drastically reduces the reload time, but like the Handgun Magazine, the speed loader must be reloaded again before use.

IMI Desert Eagle (Magnum Handgun)
The IMI Desert Eagle, also known as the "Magnum Handgun" is another type of magnum found in the game, mostly in the "Below Freezing Point" Chapter as Yoko. It carries 7 rounds a magazine and uses "Magnum rounds", despite the weapon description saying it's a .50 calibre weapon, it does slightly less damage than the S&W M29 which is .44 Magnum. The benefit of this however, is it can fire faster than the Magnum Revolver. Kevin and Alyssa can however use their "Pot-Shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis.

Automatic's
The MP5A4, called the Sub-Machine Gun is found in "The Hive" chapter when playing as either Kevin or Cindy. It fires 9x19mm Parabellum "Handgun Ammo" from 30 round magazines, but this is a problem in the game as their no separate magazine for the weapon to be reloaded. It has one of the longest reload times in the game as a result. It's fitted with a fixed Stock and Tactical flash light, which is never used in-game and is always held at the hip. It does much less damage than the Beretta despite using the same round.

Im wondering where the gun is in the game? Can anyone tell me were it is?

The MP5A5 is used in the opening cut scene, used by the Umbrella Special Forces. It feature's the tactical light of the A4, but also feature's a red-dot sight. In certain scenes it changes to a normal MP5A5 without the sight and then changes back. Likely a continuity error. This weapon is never used in-game.
Colt M4 Carbine (Assault Rifle)
The Colt M4 Assault rifle, also just called "Assault Rifle" is found in the "Decisions, Decisions" Chapter. It fires 5.56mm rounds from 30 round magazines and unlike other weapons, the only ammunition available is in the form of Assault Rifle Magazines. It fire's rapidly but seems to do the same damage as the Beretta despite using a full size rifle round. Like the MP5A4 it is held at the Hip.

In some cutscenes soldiers can be scene with M4A1 rifles with attached M203 Grenade Launchers.

M2 Browning
The M2 Browning is only seen in cut scenes, the first in the ending cut scenes of the "Outbreak" stage and again in the ending with Mark and David. It is never seen or used outside of Cut scenes.

The M79, called the "Grenade Launcher" often followed with the type of round loaded is a single shot, breach loading grenade launcher seen in the game. It fire's two different types of the rounds in File #1, Burst rounds and fictional Acid Rounds. It is found in two several chapters, most notably "Hellfire" and "Decisions, Decisions".

M136 AT4 (Rocket Launcher)
The AT4, is featured in the game as the main Rocket Launcher. Like the real life version, it fires only a single shot before being disposed of. The weapon is only seen in the chapter "Decisions, Decisions". It takes a while to aim the weapon, as the character crouches just before firing it.

Other weapons
Nail Gun
While not a weapon per say, the weapon is treated like a very weak handgun. It only carries 20 nails and there is no reload for it. Kevin or Alyssa can use their "Pot-Shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis.

Crosman 2240 Air Pistol (Ampule Shooter)
This weapon is a speciality weapon that fire's a dart full of "Daylight" Serum, a possible cure for the T-Virus and G-Virus. It fire's only a single shot, but can be used to kill the Thanatos tyrant with a single shot.
