SCAR
The weapon used by the protagonist Alcatraz and much of your allies heavily resembles a Heckler & Koch XM8 chambered in 6.8x43mm like the previous game Crysis. As in the Crysis world, it appears as if the weapon won the SOCOM SCAR competition.

DSG-1
The DSG-1 is a 10-round bolt-action precision rifle that appears in the beta multiplayer footage. As the name implies, it is based on the DSR-1 and has the similar 10-round magazine and stock of the Heckler & Koch PSG-1. Its appearance looks much different than in Crysis, featuring a shorter stock, a slightly shorter handguard and top rail, and a longer barrel.

Hammer Pistol
The Hammer pistol is seen being chambered by a C.E.L.L. soldier in a beta footage.

L-TAG grenade launcher
In the "Be The Weapon" trailer, Alcatraz is seen firing the L-TAG grenade launcher, which is pretty much an M79 grenade launcher modified to hold 6 grenade shells.

Grendel assault rifle
Seen in the CryEngine 3 trailer is what appears to be the Grendal assault rifle. Though not much is given about this weapon, the assault rifle resembles the Bushmaster ACR, though the Crysis 2 assault rifle fires in bursts.

20mm Korean machine gun
The 20mm machine gun from Crysis Warhead returns and features the same characteristics as in the previous game though this game now lets you use it as a man-portable machine gun.

Mk. 60
Seen in the "Limited Edition" trailer is an M60E3 under the name "Mk. 60".

GE M134 Minigun
A door-mounted GE M134 Minigun with a longer barrel is seen on a helicopter in "The Wall" trailer.

K-Volt electric gun
The player Alcatraz is seen firing a K-Volt electric gun at an alien Ceph unit in "Be The Weapon" trailer. Appears to be a TDI Vector with a near-complete tan finish and lack of a magazine.

Feline SMG
Feline SMG, a bullpup SMG with a 60 (+1) round magazine. It is very similar to the real life assault rifle FN F2000.

Jackal shotgun
Jackal shotgun, a semi-automatic shotgun with a 7 (+1) round box magazine. looks like a Hawk Semi-Auto Tactical shotgun or Valtro PM5.

A remake?
I know that the original True Grit was made 42 years ago and for many movie-goers it might as well have been made 100 years ago, but still that's pretty gutsy. Rooster Cogburn was the role that got John Wayne his Oscar and the original movie is a classic. However I will probably go and see this one whne it comes out at Christmas. I like Jeff Bridges and the Coen Brothers. Change of pace for them as well. Well somewhat. --Jcordell 00:24, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

They're both based on a novel by Charles Portis. The Coen's version is apparently closer to the book than the 1969 film is.--John Ryder

The Coen Brothers version looks like it's going to be a lot darker and grittier than the other one. It looks badass. -humanzie3

Those that have read the book know that it also has a good deal of humor, thanks to the first person narration of Mattie Ross. I hope and trust the Coens to include that aspect as well, though not in a voice-over.
-Blokhed 29 September 2010
I'm glad that Josh Brolin is in this. It'll make up for his piece-of-crap Jonah Hex movie. --Swordfish941 15:41, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Unknown Winchester
Rooster is also seen firing a Winchester at one point in the trailer, though I can't discern which model.

:It looks like a Model 1873, or possibly an 1876. I say it could be an 1876 because of the rather large bore diameter. - Gunmaster45

"Rooster" Cogburn could be using his Single Action Army and Mattie Ross Colt Dragoon because it looks like only the gun in his left has a loading lever

nevermind in one of the TV spot trailers is shows there there both Colt navy or Colt Dragoon, it hard to tell

-- I just saw the movie, and can confirm that he uses his two 1851 Navys, contrary to my earlier identification of one Navy and one Dragoon. In fact he never handles Mattie's Dragoon apart from the beginning. -- Blokhed 12/26/10
How does he fire right handed?
Which hand you use does not matter, eye dominance does. For example, my father shoots right handed while is left eye dominant. - Jeff
